Sell a Business

How a sale works

Most sales run four to eight months from start to closing. You continue running the agency while we manage the sale.

The process, step by step

What happens at each stage of selling your agency, what is required from you, and how long it takes.

  1. STEP 011 to 2 weeks

    Valuation and readiness review

We develop a valuation range from census or episode volume, three years of financial statements, the cap position, and the survey record.

    From you
Profit and loss statements, a census or episode report, and your CMS certification date.

  2. STEP 022 to 4 weeks

    Confidential preparation

We write the anonymized teaser and the full confidential package: normalized earnings, add-back support, payer mix, and the compliance file.

    From you
Access to records and roughly two hours per week. Nothing is disclosed to the market during this stage.

  3. STEP 034 to 10 weeks

    Qualified buyer outreach

Buyers are screened, execute an NDA, and confirm financial capacity. You approve the contact list before any conversation takes place.

    From you
Decisions on which buyers proceed, and two or three management calls.

  4. STEP 0460 to 120 days

    LOI through closing

We negotiate the letter of intent, manage diligence, and coordinate with your counsel to protect the closing timeline.

    From you
Diligence responses and your counsel's time on the purchase agreement.

A valuation request is confidential and does not commit you to anything. Most owners who send one are two or three years out.
